CTC&G IDA For Best  Interior Design

Denise’s love of vintage modern design, keen artistic eye and desire to return to home to it’s mid- century roots while making modern updates is what drew the homeowners to her work. The furnishings are in eclectic mix of curated pieces, vintage mid century fines, as well as several custom designs all unified by its meticulously edited neutral color scheme.

For this weekend in home in Westport, CT which was featured in Dwell Magazine, Denise was determined to keep the integrity of this mid-century home. She developed a design plan featuring clean lines with minimal decoration and a soft, earthy, neutral palette that offers hints of color to complement the homes natural surroundings. This home was gut renovated and brought back to its original roots without sacrificing the unique details of this iconic home.

This 1950s mid-century modern home was built when this idyllic neighborhood served as an artist colony. It was featured in House Beautiful magazine twice. Once in September 1951, and then as the cover photo in February 1961. Most recently it was one of five homes chosen for the prestigious Westport Historical Society’s Annual Holiday House Tour.
