FROM BLEAK TO CHIC

Cheers to 10 years of innovative design at D2 Interieurs!

It’s hard to believe it that we are celebrating our 10 year anniversary at D2 Interieurs. In Honor of this incredible milestone Denise is sharing some of her top tips and picks! Stay tuned for a year of Denise’s Top 10s.

One of the hardest things for our clients to commit to is choosing paint colors. There are so many options, colors, brands, and finishes. Denise is a color expert and makes the decisions easy for her clients. She has curated a unique and diverse palette of options that takes the guesswork out of picking paint colors.

Take a look at her top 10 colors and how they translate into a room environment. Paint can be subtle and act as a calming backdrop to your room. Or, it can pack a powerful punch and become the focal point. Whatever suits your fancy, Denise has something for every taste.

Check out Denise’s Top 10 paint colors and see what inspires you.

1. Ammonite - Farrow & Ball. Sometimes making a grand entrance can be grand by being subtle. We love how this award winning entryway turned out. From the calming paint color on the walls, to the layers of texture we used by adding a stairway runner, oversized pendant lighting, and wood and metal materials.

2. Wevet - Farrow & Ball. The walls become the backdrop so that the pops of blue in the accent chairs and rug could really stand out. Many of Denise’s projects are known for the bold of use of color, but if you take a closer look, the bones of the room are (most) always neutral and thoughtful color is added in furniture and accessories.

3. Cloudy Grey - Benjamin Moore. Change the channel. This incredible soft grey just makes you go ahhhh and immediately calms you. The client loves violet and soft muted colors. The room reflects the serene feeling that the client wanted to achieve as a space to have conversation with friends and family, or to use as an area to read a book. Notice there is no TV in the room…

4. Bird’s Egg - Benjamin Moore. People always forget that the ceiling is the 5th wall. Denise loves designing kids rooms and playspaces because these are the areas of the home that you can really have fun with color. This room was for a young boy but as you can see it is a space where he can easily grow into it as a teenager and very little will have to be changed or updated.

5. Simply White - Benjamin Moore. Simply white is always a crowd pleaser. This is actually Denise’s living room which she absolutely LOVES. The walls are neutral so that the ceiling wallpaper becomes the star of the show! The result is a light, bright and happy space for her to entertain family and friends. The windows allow for a flood of natural light so the Simply White walls really do open up the room.

7. Chantilly Lace - Benjamin Moore. How Boho Chic is this space? We absolutely love the way this guest house/pool house turned out for our client in the Hamptons.

8. Misted Green - Benjamin Moore. The saturated color used here really brings the custom built-ins to life and makes the wallpaper and artwork pop as well. We really wanted the the fireplace to become the focal point of the room, so the bold yet soothing paint color on the walls allows for the wallpaper and custom cabinetry to shine and your eye to be drawn to the mantle.

9. Comforth White - Farrow & Ball. This is a true master bedroom retreat in every sense of the word. The walls are a soothing color, as to not detract from the breathtaking lake views out the window. We created drama but adding tone on tone and texture on texture.

10. Brilliant Blue - Benjamin Moore. This room is pure fun for 2 boys that use it for chess lessons, play dates and sleepovers. The pop of blue on the ceiling is everything and energizes you the moment you walk into the space.
